This original graphic novel is a lightweight but lovely piece of fluff that sees investigative reporters Mr and Mrs Kent-Lane<\/i> tracking down the source of a devastating super-gun, only to be sucked into a strange time-warped dimension. There they are embroiled in a civil war between greedy, slimy, power hungry industrialist Jesden Tyme<\/i> and the robotic Mayor<\/i>, who turns out to be a download of the consciousness of Superman\u2019s long dead biological father Jor-El<\/i>\u2026<\/p>\n

Lavishly illustrated in the manner of an animated feature film, the European-flavoured stylizations of Argentinean Carlos Meglia (December 11 1957-August 15 2008: Irish Coffee<\/b>, Bet Your Life<\/b>, Star Wars<\/strong>) may not be to everyone\u2019s taste but maybe you should just persist and be open to the new\u2026<\/p>\n

The plot from Mike Kennedy (Lone Wolf 2100<\/strong>, Star Wars: Underworld<\/strong> and the deeply under-appreciated Ghost\/Batgirl<\/strong>, among others) lacks any real punch or originality of its own, relying on clich\u00e9d and oft-rehashed tropes, but there\u2019s still bunches of wit and wonder to find over this particular rainbow. Moreover, the dialogue is sharp and effective, and some of the interplay between Lois<\/i> and Clark<\/i> is simply delightful. If you want a \u201cdone-in-one\u201d delight starring comic books\u2019 oldest power couple, this could be what you\u2019re looking for.<\/p>\n
