Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think this truly beautiful painted graphic novel has been re-issued since it first came out in 1990. If that is the case then it’s an appalling oversight as Spirits of the Earth is one of the prettiest graphic novels ever produced, not to say one of the most entertaining Spider-Man adventures ever told.
Newlyweds Mary Jane and Peter Parker are astounded and delighted to discover that an unknown relative has left her a castle deep in the Scottish Highlands. Ghoulies, Ghosties and villainous super-criminals combine with some of the best artwork you’ve ever seen for a truly wonderful adventure that desperately needs to be on your bookshelf. My copy also contains a lovely pictorial travelogue by Vess entitled “A Scottish Journeyâ€. Hopefully yours will too once you track down this little gem.
